Montréal, November 28, 2003 – Starting Monday, December 1, the Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM) will hear individual citizens and organizations who wish to express their opinions and views on the Benny Farm redevelopment project.

Already, more than 30 citizens and organizations have registered for the second part of the consultation and, thus, the OCPM will hold hearings during 2 nights : Monday, December 1 and Tuesday, December 2. Both sessions will take place at Anne-Hébert School, 6310 Somerled Avenue, starting at 7 p.m. Depending on the number of participants, the hearing will continue on Wednesday night, November 3 at Anne-Hébert School.

The Benny Farm site is located on each side of Cavendish Boulevard between Sherbrooke Street and Monkland Avenue. Filed by the Société immobilière du Canada (S.I.C.), the project includes the demolition of several components of the existing residential complex, the construction and renovation of more than 500 dwelling units, the development of community facilities such as a CLSC and a sports and community centre, including a day care centre along Monkland Avenue, facing Benny Park.
