Montréal, December 3, 2003 – On December 15, at 7:00 p.m., l’Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM) will hold a public consultation on the redevelopment of De Maisonneuve Boulevard West.

Following numerous public consultations held in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough this fall, such as the Benny Farm project, the Master Development Plan of the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery and the Saint-Joseph Oratory, the population is now being consulted on the redevelopment project of De Maisonneuve Boulevard West, between Northcliffe and Bulmer avenues.

OBJECT OF CONSULATION
In order to allow the redevelopment of De Maisonneuve Boulevard West, a draft by-law was adopted at the city council meeting of May 26, 2003 to amend the urban plan in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre- Dame-de-Grâce borough to increase the height and density limits in that sector.

This amendment will allow the construction of 3-storey buildings no more than 12.5 m. high on the proposed site instead of 2-storey buildings no more than 9 m. high already authorized. It will provide for the redevelopment of that segment of De Maisonneuve Boulevard West, and will harmonize heights in sectors east and west of that area where 3-storey buildings fronting on De Maisonneuve Boulevard are already authorized.

INVITATION TO ATTEND THE PUBLIC CONSULATION
The OCPM invites interested persons and organizations to participate in the public consultation meeting: Monday, December 15, 2003, at 7:00 p.m., at the Unitarian Church, 5035 De Maisonneuve Boulevard West.

The draft by-law and background material may be consulted at the following places, during regular office hours:
